Federal Occupational Health (FOH) is dedicated to promoting the health and safety of federal employees. Our health promotion programs are part of a national effort to help Americans work proactively to improve their health. FOH provides customized programs that can be tailored to agency goals and budgets, as well as employee risk profiles.
Health promotion initiatives help employees learn how to eat healthy, make physical activity a habit, adopt preventive health strategies, and avoid or change behaviors that increase the risk of diseases. FOH promotes healthy lifestyles through nutrition education, motivational programs, behavior change training, and incentive programs. Health education programs can be provided in our clinics, fitness centers, or at your worksite.
Like all FOH services, our health promotion programs can be customized to meet each organization's unique needs. Agencies can choose to integrate health promotion with other occupational health services such as health screenings, online health risk assessments, cholesterol and glucose testing, and blood pressure monitoring.
Health promotion services are also an excellent complement to our Wellness/Fitness services and include fitness assessments, sponsored fitness activities, and personal training sessions.
As part of a virtual wellness program, FOH can provide a customized online health promotion web site designed specifically for your agency. A customized web site allows a personalized home page that includes agency specific logos and content tailored for your agency, personalized web site address, as well as agency specific incentive programs, and intra-agency competitions.
FOH's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Work/Life Program provide regular health promotion materials designed for both employees and supervisors. Our health and wellness presentations include such topics as stress management, dealing with change, effective communication, and more. Our orientations highlight features and benefits of the program and are available via in person presentations, live webinars, recorded webinars and podcasts, and online.

"We don't have the space for a fitness center, but we do have an online comprehensive lifestyle management program that about 30% of our employees use regularly. This virtual training is personal and confidential and is complemented by a fitness consultant who goes onsite to conduct physical activity classes at our many sites. Employees get a lot of recognition for achieving their fitness goals."
