Wellness Program Management

Agencies have a great opportunity to assist employees’ efforts to protect their health through Wellness Programs. Educating employees regarding specific health risks is the building block to health behavior change. By offering wellness programs, agencies have the ability to positively impact the effects of many debilitating illnesses and chronic conditions. Working in partnership with agencies to support employees’ effort to improve their health and well-being, FOH offers the following services.

Needs Assessments
FOH can conduct an initial needs assessment to help determine your agency population’s risk for major health conditions. This needs assessment serves as the basis for developing health education programs and health promotion activities.

Health Risk Appraisal Services
FOH offers individual health risk appraisals to help employees determine their health status and health risks. Employees receive an individualized report with specific information about how to reduce their health risks. An important benefit of the health risk appraisal is the ability to measure changes in health risks over time. FOH offers Health Risk Appraisal services both in a web-based format and in hard copy.

Health Promotion Activities
Using the results from the Health Risk Appraisal reports, FOH develops Health Promotion Activities that are specific to your agency’s needs. Some of the methods by which Health Education information can be disseminated are:

  • bulletin boards
  • e-mail broadcasts
  • brown bag lunch seminars.

FOH has the ability to conduct screenings at your worksite for employees. The important personal health information that is provided via these screenings can be key to the early detection of chronic illnesses. Some of the available screenings include cholesterol screenings, blood glucose measurements, blood pressure measurements and body fat analysis.

Agencies that provide wellness/fitness programs and services want their employees to put these resources to good use. FOH can develop the tools you need to advertise programs and encourage participation. Throughout the year, FOH fitness professionals provide health information, new programs and incentives to invite new individuals to participate, as well as to keep current participants coming back.

Improving the health, safety, and productivity of our Federal employees.
